| The Indonesian art of wax and dye resist known as Batik is flourishing in Florida, in the hands of Naples artist Muffy Clark Gill. Gill's skilled interpretation of tropical motifs, Seminole Indian subjects, and Southwest themes bond the Asian technique with popular topics in a way that makes each painted cloth a singular expression of this world-traveling artist's affection for the beauty that abounds in every corner of the globe. Batik Artist Muffy Clark Gill is a Boston University School for the Arts graduate who has also honed her skills with additional courses in sculpture, woodcarving, and commercial art. |

| Named one of the top 100 artists in the 1997 National Arts For The Parks competition, and the only Batik painting that made the final cut. Muffy Clark Gill's work has won numerous awards in state and local art shows. She has also created poster art that has benefited local charities, including United Arts Council in Naples, Florida, The Shelter For Abused Women of Collier County (Florida), Fairchild Tropical Garden, Miami, Florida, and "City Jazz" for the City of Naples, Florida. Gill has been profiled in publications including cover artwork for The Naples Guide, articles in Gulfshore Life Magazine and "N" Magazine, and a Batik feature story in the Naples Daily News "Ambiance" magazine. A selection of artwork is always available for purchase and can be seen by appointment.
